Quant UNAM
is an educational initiative whose main objective is to increase awareness and knowledge about Quantum Computing, putting special emphasis in its mathematical formalism. This initiative is addressed towards the student community of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and more broadly, to the Spanish speaking student community. Quantum computing is an emergent technology that promises to revolutionize computation technology and to have a significative impact in diverse areas, from cryptography to the simulation of complex systems.
Mission:
Our mission is the educate, inspire and empower the students at UNAM, and the Spanish speaking community, in the fascinating world of quantum computation. We aspire to promote the understanding of the fundamental principles of quantum physics and how they translate in mathematical concepts applied to quantum computation. We aspire to contribute to a future where the students of UNAM not only excel as leaders in this cutting-edge technology but also stand well-prepared to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities it presents.
Future activities
TALKS AND CONFERENCES
We plan to arrange talks and conferences with experts in quantum computation as well as mathematicians exploring the relationship between mathematics and quantum computing.
PRACTICAL WORKSHOPS
We will offer practical workshops where students can learn to program in quantum languages such as Qiskit or Q#, leveraging their comprehension of the underlying mathematical concepts in quantum computing to design quantum algorithms.
EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS
We will promote student participation in events and competitions, both national and international, related to quantum computing.
ONLINE RESOURCES
We will provide online resources, such as tutorials and educational material, so that students can delve into the mathematics of quantum computing at their own pace.
INDUSTRY COLLABORATION
Will establish collaborations with companies and research institutions to provide internship opportunities and joint projects for students interested in quantum computing.
Join us in this exciting adventure in the quantum world!
